"Charged for Returning a Defective Lens"
I reached out to Dale Photographic with a pretty detailed inquiry about the lens and some issues I had with another one I bought recently. I wanted to make sure the lens they were selling was in good shape. I ended my message with a note about the one-month guarantee, asking them to check it or assure me that I could return it if there were any problems.

Their response was brief: 'Thanks for your message. I have tested everything and all is fine.'

But when the lens arrived, it was a different story. It wobbled on the camera mount, and I was so worried about damaging my D850 that I didn’t even try to take a picture. I detailed the issue and was told I had to pay for the return shipping. I thought it was unfair since I received a faulty product. I wrote back saying, 'Since this return is due to a fault, I expect the return postage to be covered. I didn’t think I’d get a defective lens, especially after our previous discussions. I’m surprised you missed this issue during your testing.'

Dale's reply was: 'It was clearly mentioned in previous emails that you would be responsible for the return postage, so no, we won’t be refunding it, just the purchase price of the lens. We already paid £12 for DPD to send it to you.'
